Deviation Actions
The following rules must be met for submissions to the Marketplace Folder.
Any submissions that do not follow these rules will be removed.
Image form only. (Optional templates will be supplied soon!)
NO JOURNAL POSTS. Submit journals to the Price List Folder
The goal of this folder is to create an easy to understand store for customers to browse. Journals are usually not as eye catching as a well designed price sheet image and will not get you the same amount of traffic.
Required information:
Images of offered commission types
Corresponding prices of commission types- can be flat prices, price ranges, hourly rate, etc.
Preferred contact information; email address if you use it
A link to your TOS in the artist's comments section
Suggested, not required:
YOUR ARTIST NAME. -this should be obvious! What if this is shared elsewhere?
A short list of will or won't draw preferences
Slot numbers
Two Submissions Per Artist
Active Submissions Only
If you can remember it would help greatly if you could remove your submission when you close your slots. Re-submit again when you're open.
Additional Suggestions:
Image should be small enough to fit on the screen without scrolling and easy to read.
Put your best work forward!
Text should follow basic graphic design guidelines- max three sizes, three fonts, three colors. Less is more!
The more attractive the design, the more you sell yourself!
Ask if you have questions!

Commission Tips: Step One... Building an Audience
Hello! Long time no see! I'm Octobertiger (https://www.deviantart.com/octobertiger), and about 8 years ago I wrote a journal with Tips on How to Get Commissions, which has continued to get new comments up until today, so I figured people are looking for and appreciate some advice on commissions. I've been taking art commissions for well over a decade now, and am currently living off my freelance work. In the last 2-3 years I've really boiled down what it takes to maintain demand, stay organized and be successful as a "professional" artist without having gone to art school. I decided to revisit my tips, and add some new ones based on my experiences since writing that first journa
Marketplace Folder
I started this group thinking this could be something like a market place for feline art, but it's fallen short of that. I think a little of problem (with DeviantArt in general nowadays) is the lack of customers and the over abundance of artists. The rest of the problem is ease of use, and presentation, which I hope will be addressed by my current plan.
I am working on creating a better marketplace folder right now that will be a little more like say, a magazine: price sheets and advertisements will be have to meet requirements for posting (I think templates will be offered, for those who are design-challenged and/or lazy). Approval will be
Comments on Group Profile.
Hey, all. I'm back from hiatus, so I'll be sprucing up the group soon.
Just a note before I get going: Please, please, DO NOT post your commission prices on the profile page. There is a folder in the gallery for those! (http://felinecommissions.deviantart.com/gallery/32443028/Commission-Price-Lists) We want to help you get business, and may do some sort of feature option in the journals if you so desperately want your prices on the front page, but I'd prefer that the front page comment section be left for normal comments.
I will be removing them, which I hate doing, so please don't post there.
-Thanks!
Long Awaited Contest Results.
I was thinking about contests the other day, and realized I never did announce the results of the icon contest. I put it off because only 5 people entered, and they were all pretty good entries which made it hard to decide what to do. So, in the end I decided to do prize art for everyone who entered, as well as use their icons for two weeks each, and then the grand prize winner will be the permanent icon we set at the end.
SO
The grand prize winner is...
Aspenture (https://www.deviantart.com/aspenture) with her very nice sleek design.

I choose this one because for me it pops. The text is nice and easy to read, the color stands out nicely, and the animation
